Cellar Coolers Guarantee a Premier Pint

Two JCC cellar cooling systems from J & E Hall are ensuring that a premier pint reaches the lips of beer drinkers. The cellar coolers have been installed in the new 250-cask holding store at Leeds Brewery.

The installers were GRS Refrigeration of Hunslet, Leeds. Director Jack Robinson said: “At GRS Refrigeration we like using J & E Hall cellar coolers. The equipment is user-friendly, reliable and looks good. We’ve installed systems from other manufacturers in the past but the cellar coolers from J & E Hall are easily the best.”

Leeds Brewery was established in 2007 and is the city’s only independent brewery. It combines the latest in technology with time-honoured skills and uses the finest ingredients – choicest English hops, select British malted barley and Yorkshire yeast – to create exceptional beers. Those on permanent sale include Leeds Best bitter, Leeds Pale ale and Midnight Bell, a premium dark mild.

The cellar cooler installation is working well, as Mr Robinson explained: “The JCC 60E cellar coolers are doing an important job in the brewing process. The beer when it arrives in the store has completed fermentation and is in the cask. The store needs to be kept at a temperature of around 10°C or 12°C. This slows the brewing process and allows the beer to condition. The installation was very straightforward.”
