J & E Hall have recently launched a new range of air-cooled industrial condensing units which were on show for the first time at IKK 2006. They are the first industrial condensing units using single screw compressors with up to 175 kW (230 HP) of installed power. The new air-cooled condensing units use the new HallScrew HSML 3100 semi-hermetic compressors with a wide range of cooling capacities.
Four models of the HSML HallScrew semi-hermetic single screw compressor, combined with three sizes of air-cooled condensers, are available with high or low speed fans. These factory-built industrial condensing units are easy to install: they include oil separator, liquid receiver and drier; and are fully wired with all motor starters and controls – only the mains electrical supply and start-stop signal wiring is required on site.
The new units offer great value for money – less than 70 per cent of the cost of the equivalent site installed system. Other benefits include:
· low noise levels down to 76 d(B)A or 80 d(B)A for standard option
· small footprint for jobs where space is at a premium
· and 100 per cent standby capacity for critical cooling systems.
The units are also easy to maintain. External oil filters can be replaced without opening the compressors. Isolating and drain valves allow the filter cartridge to be changed in minutes.
With one or two compressor options the infinitely variable capacity control ranges from 100 per cent to 25 per cent or 100 per cent to 12.5 per cent and when used as a standby machine the second compressor gives peace of mind for critical cooling applications.
The new condensing units are available with cooling capacities from 25 kW at –40°C to 500 kW at 0°C using R404 refrigerant in ambients up to 40°C. They are also available for use with R134a and R407C refrigerants.
These air-cooled condensing units are all 2,230 mm wide x 2,520 mm high with three standard lengths of 2240 mm, 3460 mm or 4355 mm.
